A Celebration of the completion of the Vital Link Track
A huge thank you to everyone in the Wairahi Tracks Charitable Trust (WTCT) community. We have substantially completed our fundraising for the Vital Link walking and cycle track between Langs Beach and Bream Tail Road.
On Saturday 25th January 2025, we celebrated the completion of the Shared User Path (SUP) with an event that was held at Te Waorahi, the world class mountain bike and walking park in Tarata Place and very accessible from the SUP. More than 100 people from our community, our local Councils (NRC, WDC and KDC), and other supporting groups in the wider Bream Bay region, attended the event to hear about the achievement, our plans for the future, and to enjoy each other's company.

It was an extremely exciting event with much optimism evident for our next planning. We look forward to your ongoing support as we collaborate, support, and contribute to a SUP from One Tree Point to Mangawhai.
THE CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR FUNDRAISING RAFFLE
To complete our weekend of celebrations, The WTCT Trustees are pleased to announce that our Christmas and New Year Fundraising Raffle has raised $19k of the funds required to fully complete the Vital Link Track.
Drawn on 26 January 2025, the winners have been notified, and preparations are now underway to present the prizes at a time suitable to both the winners and the businesses that have donated the prizes.
The first prize of an Urban Xplorer e-bike, donated by Smart Power Bikes, Waipu (Smartpowernz.com) has been won by a local Langs Beach resident.
And the second prize of 1 night stay and a meal for 2 at the Cove Cafe, donated by the Cove Cafe, has been won by a visitor to our beautiful area from Piha.
THANK YOU TO THE BUSINESSES THAT DONATED THE PRIZES AND THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO PURCHASED ONE OR MORE OF THE 3500 TICKETS.
It has been an amazing and humbling effort, and we regret that we could not provide you all with a prize!!
